Secure authentication

You can add a second step to your sign-in, and sign in with a passkey instead of typing a password.

Prerequisite#

1. You must have an account on Nitrogen.
2. You must have a verified mobile number on your profile. Authentication setup is not available without one.

Setting it up#

1. Open your user profile, then select Secure Authentication.
2. Choose Authenticator App to use a time-based code from an app, or Passkeys to register the device you are on.
3. For a passkey, confirm the device with Face, fingerprint or a PIN when your browser asks for it.

Signing in#

The login screen offers these options:

• Your password, as before.
• Sign in with a passkey, confirmed with your device.
• Auth App, for a code from your authenticator app.
• One Time Login, if you cannot use the options above.

Notes#

• A passkey belongs to the device it was registered on. Register one on each device you sign in from.
• Setting up a passkey or an authenticator app is recommended for every user, and is the second layer of protection on your account.
